Carlton vs GWS Prediction
Carlton will look to bounce back to winning ways when they butt heads with one of the only two remaining undefeated sides left in the competition this season, the GWS Giants.
Michael Voss and his side copped a reality check against the winless Adelaide Crows despite leading by a few goals late in the match. Not only that, but they also lost Adam Saad and Mitch McGovern to hamstring injuries. Although, it was a see-sawing contest that saw 15 lead changes throughout.
If the Blues did manage to win, it would have been their first 5-0 start to a season since they last won the premiership in 1995. In positive news, Sam Walsh looked class in his first match back from injury, amassing 34 disposals and clearances.
Perhaps even worse off on the injury front, the Giants also lost multiple key players to injury including Sam Taylor (Head), Stephen Coniglio (Knee), Josh Kelly (Ribs) & Kieran Briggs (Shoulder).
They almost blew a six-goal lead in the final quarter despite dominating for the majority of the afternoon last time out against St Kilda. If it wasn’t for James Peatling’s courageous mark in the final minute it could have been a very sour afternoon.
Nevertheless, they start the season 5-0 with their biggest test of the season coming up on Saturday evening against the blue baggers.
Prediction: Carlton by 10 points
Key Matchup: Jacob Weitering vs Jesse Hogan
